12. Nymphomaniac
In her first big-screen role, Mia Goth plays P in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” The film follows Joe, a self-proclaimed nymphomaniac who is rescued by virginal bachelor Seligman after she’s viciously beaten and left for dead near his apartment. While the first half of the film is compelling, the second half is weighed down by philosophizing that feels thin.
11. Everest
Of all the films Mia Goth has been in, her most accessible is probably “Everest," which is based on the 1996 real-life disaster involving two expedition groups caught in a blizzard on the slopes of Mount Everest. The film is an immersive and convincing depiction of the treacherous peaks, but Goth’s small role lands this film low on her filmography.
10. The House
Netflix’s “The House” is a beautifully crafted stop-motion anthology featuring different styles of animation from different eras. The film spins tales of temptation and greed, the importance of loved ones, and what it means for a house to be a home, and Mia Goth's vocal performance as the eldest daughter adds a depth and warmth that contrasts the film.
9. Marrowbone
Sergio G. Sánchez’s “Marrowbone” is a beautifully shot, well-acted Gothic tale with an absolutely stacked cast. Mia Goth stars as the middle sibling of a family that flees to America to escape their abusive father, but when their mother dies, the four children must fend for themselves. The film is atmospheric, emotional, and well worth checking out.
8. Mayday
Karen Cinorre’s directorial debut follows Ana, who after being assaulted by her boss is transported to an island during World War II where she meets a group of female soldiers luring in and slaughtering passing soldiers. Goth plays Marsha, one of the gleefully murderous sirens in this ambitious and atmospheric film.
