Euphoria Standout Barbie Ferreira Will Not Be Returning For Season 3

In a now-deleted Instagram story, Barbie Ferreira shared that she would not be returning as Kat in Season 3 of “Euphoria” and hoped that fans “could see yourself in her like I did” and that they enjoyed watching “her journey into the character she is today." Although no official explanation has been given as of writing, there are some clues as to what might have happened.
Kat’s story had noticeably been put on the back burner in Season 2, and a report by The Daily Beast stated that Ferreira and showrunner Sam Levinson would frequently clash over her character’s storylines. However, since Ferreira has publicly stated that the reports were exaggerated, it can be speculated that the show simply wants to go in a different creative direction for Season 3.
"Euphoria’s" plans for Season 3’s plot are unknown, but it could move away from its current high school setting altogether. There is also the possibility that Ferreira won't be the only cast member leaving the show, as it could undergo a whole creative reset.
