Eli Wallach Never Got Over One Magnificent Seven Regret

Eli Wallach, who played the bandit leader Calvera in John Sturges' classic Western "The Magnificent Seven," harbored a significant regret about his experience making the film.
In his 2005 autobiography, Wallach revealed that he wished he could have heard Elmer Bernstein's iconic score while filming, as it would have influenced his performance.
"If I had heard that score," Wallach wrote, "I think I would have ridden my horse differently." He felt that the music would have added depth to his performance.
Wallach elaborated, "In the days of silent movies, mood music was played on the set to enrich the actors' feeling for a scene. That would have helped me."
