Warner Bros. and DC films unveiled new trailers for their upcoming movies at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Following the showcase for “Shazam: Fury of the Gods,” actor Dwayne Johnson and director Jaume Collet-Serra took to the stage for “Black Adam,” and the actor revealed their and the studio’s goal “To usher in a new era for the DC universe.”
The DCEU’s hierarchy of power is about to change as audiences will see the formation of the Justice Society on screen. Not only will the movie have Teth-Adam/Black Adam (Johnson) as the antihero, but it will also feature Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan).
While onstage, Johnson praised Collet-Serra and explained the two have discussed “Black Adam” for a long time, saying “the idea was, well, how could we create something that is fresh, unique [...] It's an ambitious movie, but shows great things that have never been done.” Collet-Serra also shared that the film’s tone wasn’t black or white, adding, “You need to kind of operate in that gray area.”
