Dune Director Denis Villeneuve Cast Oscar Isaac Thanks To This Email

Denis Villeneuve cast Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides in "Dune" largely due to an email the actor sent expressing his enthusiasm for a potential role in the project.
Isaac, a devoted fan of Frank Herbert's novel, wrote to Villeneuve upon hearing he was directing the film, saying, "I love 'Dune.' I love this book. Just throwing it out there."
Villeneuve, already a fan of Isaac's performances in films like "Inside Llewyn Davis" and "Ex Machina" and eager to work with him, responded, "You love Dune. Interesting..."
This serendipitous email exchange led to Isaac securing a role in the film, as Villeneuve felt that the actor "fit the exact description of Duke Leto in the book."
