Dune 2 Created A Brother-Sister Bond Between Timothée Chalamet And Zendaya
By LYVIE SCOTT
Despite playing virtual strangers in the first installment of “Dune,” Timothée Chalamet’s Paul and Zendaya’s Chani are destined to become a couple, as fans of the series know.
While their characters may become romantically involved, it turns out that Chalamet and Zendaya were only very good friends during the film’s production and press tour.
The actors quickly found common ground, as Zendaya shared, “I was the only other person closer to his age on the cast. So he was like, ‘Awesome, someone who understands my jokes!”
Filming the sequel has brought the actors closer together, as Chalamet shared in his interview with Variety about the new dynamics and Zendaya's expanded role.
The actor said, “She’s bringing exactly what she brought to the first one — which was incredible — but in greater abundance. And she’s really become a sister.”
He continued, “I’m so grateful to count her as a partner and a sister and a friend.” The actors have even more in common now, as both have worked with director Luca Guadagnino.
