This story contains spoilers for “Cocaine Bear.”
The action-horror-comedy “Cocaine Bear” harkens back to the killer animal films of the ’70s and ’80s, showing what could happen if a bear ingested an obscene amount of the illegal drug. It also gives the audience amusing glimpses into the lives of the survivors following the events, making it worth sticking around for the credits after the film is finished.
The Duchamps’ sole survivor, Stache, decides his near-death experience was a wake-up call, and with only the clothes on his back and a duffel bag of cocaine, he hitches a ride to New York City from a sheep herder. The second credits scene shows Eddie and Daveed returning to their St. Louis headquarters with a new dog named Rosette.
Daveed discovers one block of cocaine that they retrieved from the forest is missing, and the duo looks suspiciously at Rosette, leaving the audience to decide if the dog could have eaten all that cocaine without dying. Also, as one final send-off to the titular bear and her two cubs, viewers hear two hikers comment on how cute the latter look before they begin staring them down.
