Does Admiral Thrawn Know Darth Vader’s True Identity In Ahsoka?
By RYAN SCOTT
Spoiler Warning!
This article contains spoilers for “Ahsoka” episode 7, “Dreams and Madness.”
Episode 7 of “Ahsoka” sees the titular hero finally make it to the distant galaxy where both Thrawn and Ezra Bridger had been stranded.
This episode also lightly touched on a part of Thrawn’s past involving Darth Vader, one of the most notorious characters in “Star Wars” history.
In the episode, Thrawn learns that Anakin Skywalker was Ahsoka Tano’s master. This news appears to spark some emotion from the otherwise even-tempered villain.
He demonstrates a knowledge of the former Jedi, raising the question of whether or not Thrawn knew Anakin became Darth Vader. The answer is yes.
In Timothy Zahn’s 2018 multiple-story novel, “Thrawn: Alliances,” one arc has Thrawn working with Anakin in the Clone Wars while another sees him with Darth Vader during “Rebels.”
It’s never explicitly said Thrawn deduced Darth Vader’s true identity, but several hints in “Alliances” make it clear he knew who the Sith lord was under the mask and suit.
