Vincenzo Natali’s 1997 sci-fi horror “Cube” has remained a cult classic, focusing on moral and philosophical themes rather than just brutal shock effects.
However, the director shared with SFX Magazine that production was filled with obstacles that made the filming process challenging, including one that nearly killed him.
Natali spoke about the near accident that occurred while filming: “The cube was huge and almost fell on me. I was almost crushed by my own cube, which really could’ve killed me.”
Along with the potentially fatal accident was a series of set issues, such as the doors not opening, that almost saw the film shut down by its executive producer.
