Denise Richards Refused To Film This NSFW Starship Troopers Scene
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
In a 2018 interview with the Guardian, Denise Richards revealed that she refused to film a topless scene that director Paul Verhoeven had added to "Starship Troopers."
This scene was not part of the original script. Richards, who played Carmen Ibanez in the 1997 film, felt it was gratuitous and refused, explaining, "I didn't see the point of it."
Verhoeven, known for films like "RoboCop" and "Showgirls," doesn't shy away from including sex and violence in his movies. However, he did not insist when Richards declined.
Richards maintained a positive view of Verhoeven, praising his direction and his ability to handle the film's special effects. "Paul was a great teacher," she remarked.
