David Boreanaz Had To Undergo Real Sniper Training For Fox’s Bones

With everything that happens in “Bones,” it’s unlikely Seeley Booth’s (David Boreanaz) sharpshooting comes to mind. However, Boreanaz worked hard behind the scenes.
Boreanaz wanted Booth’s status as a former Army sniper to be believable, so he trained with police technical advisor, Mike Grasso. They often visited a shooting range for practice.
At the range, Grasso would create practice scenarios that Boreanaz called “pretty challenging,” including one that required him to nail a moving target in a single shot.
Grasso asked the actor to breathe out and shoot “at a little four-inch disk” roughly 300 feet away. He said that practice would only continue if Boreanaz made the shot.
