Chris Rock Couldn’t Help But Think Of Chris Farley During Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
Although Adam Sandler built his career with crass comedies, he has repeatedly proven that he is a great actor. Thanks to his foolish yet understandable and likable character, Sandler’s 2019 film "Uncut Gems" was loved by many of his peers, including Chris Rock, who couldn’t help but think about his former colleague, the late comedy legend Chris Farley.
Farley had never done a drama, but Rock felt that his “Saturday Night Live” co-star could have. Rock shared, “It’s sad when our friend’s not here, but it is curious to [think], ‘Wow, what would that guy have done?’ When I see Sandler in something like ‘Uncut Gems,’ it’s like, ‘Yeah, Farley could have done that. Farley could have been in, you know ...’”
Farley was beloved by his peers, and his films were generally successful, but unfortunately, the actor passed away before completing other movies that could have undoubtedly launched his career further. The actor had been attached to multiple projects before his death like the titular role in “Shrek” and as one of the characters in Disney’s “Dinosaur.”
