Bones Hid A Huge Moment From The Cast Until The Very Last Minute

Hart Hanson's "Bones" maintained healthy ratings throughout its 12-season run, so he and his writers took time to develop romances between characters on the show.
In some cases, they let things simmer for seasons at a time before making it official and would even hide these character-critical developments from the cast.
Michaela Conlin, who played Angela Montenegro, was caught completely off-guard when it was revealed that her character would get hitched with T.J. Thyne's Jack Hodgins.
The big moment comes at the end of the Season 5 episode, “The Witch in the Wardrobe,” where both their characters are working a case from a jail cell.
Their relationship had hit the rocks, so a wedding is the last thing on anyone's mind at the episode's outset. Conlin told EW that "it was kept pretty under wraps for a while, which is good."
Conlin added, "Normally, we have more of an idea of what may or may not happen. But that was a true surprise, which I liked. It was really fun to shoot."
