Bob Odenkirk Had Never Seen Seinfeld When He Was Offered A Guest Role
By TRAVIS YATES
During the show's iconic run, "Seinfeld" had many guest stars, some famous and those yet to make a name for themselves. Bob Odenkirk was on the list of notable "Seinfeld" guest stars, and even though it was the most popular sitcom on television at the time, Odenkirk wasn't all that familiar with the show when he took the role.
Although Odenkirk knew fellow comic and "Seinfeld" creator, Larry David, the actor admitted to GQ in 2021, "I did not watch 'Seinfeld' until after it was long over. My girlfriend at the time was a huge fan, so I certainly knew that it was great." Odenkirk came away impressed with the show, adding, "It was a great, great experience. They were such a team [...] working together so well."
Odenkirk concluded to GQ, "Now that I've watched every single episode, it is in my top three sitcoms of all time.” Interestingly, Odenkirk also hadn't seen an episode of "Breaking Bad" before taking the role that would define his career and earn him multiple Emmy nominations for his work as Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill in "Better Call Saul."
