Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is Tracking for a Huge Opening Weekend At The Box Office
By RYAN SCOTT
While September and early October were rough for the box office, with only several notable films in theaters, things seem to look up with the release of “Black Adam” and “Halloween Ends.” However, the year’s most seemingly massive guaranteed hit, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” is just around the corner and is already bringing out moviegoers at a near-record level.
It’s being reported that the first official box office tracking is to be a massive $175 million opening weekend next month, and if that number holds, the “Black Panther” sequel will set a new November record. “Wakanda Forever” marks the end of the MCU’s phase 4, which first began with “WandaVision” in 2020 and will feature, among other things, the debut of Namor.
If the $175 million figure is accurate, “Wakanda Forever” won’t quite overtake its 2018 “Black Panther” predecessor or “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” however this number could easily climb higher and eclipse a $200 million opening. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Martin Freeman, and will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
