Black Adam Brings Back A Member Of The Suicide Squad Cast
By VALERIE ETTENHOFER
Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, the antagonist of the recent “Suicide Squad” films who also appeared in “Peacemaker,” will reportedly return in the upcoming “Black Adam” film. As of now, not many details are known except for the brief “Black Adam” footage that was shown at San Diego Comic-Con, where Waller asks who the Justice Society of America is.
In the DC comics and on screen, Waller is a government intelligence officer who is suspicious of superheroes and covers up suspicious U.S. activities abroad. “Peacemaker” expands her story by introducing her daughter, Leota Adebayo, and the first season ends with Adebayo publicly exposing Waller’s involvement with Task Force X and the Suicide Squad.
In May, it was revealed that Davis was in talks to star in James Gunn’s Waller-centered television show, which would take place after the events of the “Peacemaker” season finale. In the meantime, fans can catch her on the silver screen on October 21st when “Black Adam” is released nationwide.
