Batman: Caped Crusader Is Putting A New Spin On A Classic Villain
By DEVIN MEENAN
Harvey Dent was a Gotham City District Attorney until acid was thrown at him while he was prosecuting a case, permanently scarring one side of his face.
Dent becomes Two-Face, a villain split between good and evil who lets a coin flip decide his actions, but he will be different in the upcoming series "Batman: Caped Crusader.”
Creator Bruce Timm spoke to Vanity Fair about how "Caped Crusader" will show Dent as a corrupt district attorney who is against Batman even before he becomes a villain.
Timm explained that when Dent’s face becomes disfigured, “for the first time in his life he actually feels empathy for other people."
In the "Batman: Caped Crusader” version, Two-Face's scars represent his good side, just like the two-faced Prince Zuko from "Avatar: The Last Airbender."
