Avengers: Infinity War Cut A Major Scene About Thanos & The Power Stone

“Avengers: Infinity War” was the culmination of years of the MCU, but its story isn’t concluded until “Endgame” and a lot of content was cut from the film.
Thanos’ creator Jim Starlin explained that a 45-minute deleted scene included “[...] a whole sequence of [Thanos] getting the first gem,” but it didn’t make the final cut.
“Infinity War” opens with Thanos already having the Power Stone, and the deleted sequence Starlin mentions would have shown his battle to obtain it.
Despite the scene being shot, Starlin stated, “they never wanted to spend the money on the effects and they didn't want the movie to be as long as the second one ['Endgame'] was.”
