Aubrey Plaza Fantasized A Totally Different Ending For Her White Lotus Character

Although Ethan and Harper have a seemingly happy ending in Season 2 of The White Lotus, Aubrey Plaza revealed she preferred her character's ending to be much more complicated. On Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actress confessed, "I mean, I'll just say that I was really gunning for some takes where maybe we weren't so happy."
Ethan and Harper had one of the most closed endings of the characters and seemed to have reconciled their relationship, but it's hard to say how long that will last. Plaza remarked to Seth Meyers, "I don't know, maybe they'll be okay. But I have a kind of fantasy that Harper divorces him and takes all his money."
Plaza dreams Harper will take Ethan for all he's worth, while White Lotus creator Mike White feels that a cheating scandal or two was exactly what the couple needed to spark their relationship. A newfound spark based on lies and infidelity seems dubious, but only time will tell as we'll just have to hope that White brings them back for another season.
