Arkham Asylum HBO Max Series Lands The Staircase Showrunner Antonio Campos
By RYAN SCOTT
Antonio Campos, creator of the true crime series "The Staircase," has been named as the new showrunner of the yet-to-be-titled Arkham Asylum TV show set in Matt Reeves’s Bat-verse. The show, which was originally going to be about the Gotham City Police Department, has shifted its focus to Arkham Asylum, the famous institution for the city's most dangerous criminals.
The show doesn’t yet have an official synopsis, nor has any cast been announced, however, it has been described as having more of a "horror" vibe. The show’s possibilities are seemingly endless as much remains up in the air for now.
Campos has also worked on the long-running series "The Sinner,” and it’s clear that dark and gloomy crime seems to be right up his alley, so having him as showrunner makes perfect sense. The untitled Arkham Asylum show does not yet have a release date set.
