Annie Wersching Was A Perfect Fit For Star Trek: Picard’s Borg Queen Prosthetics
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
Annie Wersching brought to life one of the most dangerous villains of “Star Trek: Picard” as the Borg Queen before her passing on January 29, 2023, at the age of 45.
Wersching’s acting skills weren’t the only perfect match for the supervillain, as makeup designer Neville Page revealed the actress was uniquely suited for prosthetics.
Page shared, “Her head is perfect. She’s got perfect symmetry. It was just serendipitous, quite frankly, that my head — the proxy head I used — was almost the exact same shape.”
The head makeup designer on “Picard,” James MacKinnon, went into further detail about Wersching’s makeup process to get her ready for the role of the Borg Queen.
MacKinnon shared, “The makeup took about four hours to start. We got it down to an hour and 45 minutes, which is crazy fast. Annie was in about 13 to 15 pieces, put together.”
Although applying the makeup was a lengthy process, Wersching learned to enjoy it, saying, “I had such fun with the guys that were doing it, so it ended up being great.”
