"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is a meditation on grief for the characters and fans, as the film explores heavy themes and deals with the death of both King T’Challa and actor Chadwick Boseman. Though the movie has a melancholy tone, there are some humorous moments in the film, with many coming from Winston Duke’s M’Baku, the leader of the Jabari Tribe.
One of the best moments in the first film was when M'Baku threatened to feed Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) to his children, but after he laughs, saying, "I'm kidding. We are vegetarians!" In "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," M’Baku chomps on a carrot while learning about Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía) sort of encapsulates his character.
Despite being a warrior and one of the best fighters in Wakanda, M'Baku shows in this movie that he is capable of change, honoring his tribe’s traditions while also joining the Tribal Council and participating with the rest of the country. However, M'Baku defies expectations by smiling in the face of danger and snacking unabashedly on a Bugs Bunny treat.
