All Of Morph’s Mutant Transformations In X-Men ‘97 Explained
By ETHAN ANDERTON
In “X-Men '97,” Morph, the shapeshifting mutant, returns as a valuable team member, using his transformative abilities by assuming various forms.
In the debut, Morph makes a grand entrance. During a kitchen gathering, “Professor X” (actually Morph) is seen enjoying a beignet while playfully advising Cyclops, a fellow X-Men.
Another amusing scene depicts Morph transforming into pregnant Jean Grey, teasing Wolverine about his love triangle with the telekinetic mutant and Cyclops.
Morph’s abilities later shine in the first episode's climax as he transforms into the flying mutant Angel to rescue fellow X-Men, Wolverine, as they confront Bolivar Trask.
When Wolverine needs a boost to reach Master Mold's head, Morph changes into Blob. The bulging mutant's massive body lets Wolverine leap off and deliver a crushing blow.
In the second episode, as X-Cutioner prepares to strike Cyclops, Morph quickly changes into Lady Deathstrike, ready to face the imminent threat with her drawn claws.
As Lady Deathstrike, Morph confronts the X-Cutioner's miniaturized Sentinel blaster. He swiftly transforms into the mutant Colossus to easily handle the onslaught of attacks.
Finally, as Cyclops hurries to Jean Grey during childbirth, Morph transforms into Psylocke. Yet, he wields conventional swords rather than using her mutant psychic abilities.
