Alan Ritchson Wants Reacher Season 2 To Differ From The Books In One Key Way
By JOE ROBERTS
"Reacher" Season 1 stayed true to the book version of Jack Reacher, which made fans happy as the series topped the Nielsen streaming chart and was renewed for another season. Expected to air in 2023, Season 2 will reunite Reacher (Alan Ritchson) with his ex-Army colleague, Frances Neagley, as they try to find the murderer of their former comrades.
Fans of Lee Child's book series know that Reacher is a nomadic figure and rarely keeps the same people around him for long, so Neagley may be the only returning character besides the lead actor Ritchson. However, Ritchson told Collider that he loved working with cast members of Season 1 and hoped he could work with them again in Season 2.
"I really fell in love with everybody that I worked with [on Season 1]. Every cast member, all the way down to day players who are there just for one line, were some of the best actors and actresses that I've ever worked with," said Ritchson. "They're great to be on set with. So, it's rather tragic that there's a chance that I may not see some of them again."
Despite being a faithful adaptation of the source material, Season 1 took some creative liberties, so a possible return of other characters can't be completely ruled out. Though it's unclear if Oscar Finlay or Roscoe Conklin will appear in Season 2, fans may have the opportunity to see them back in "Reacher" at a later time.
