A Star Trek Legend Touched Patrick Stewart By Paying Tribute To Picard
By DANIELLE RYAN
"Star Trek" has seen its fair share of crossovers, but one of the more memorable ones came when Patrick Stewart’s Captain Picard encountered Leonard Nimoy’s Spock in "Unification."
In the two-part episode "Unification," Picard and Data journey to locate the missing Spock on Romulus. The episode weaves through encounters with Ferengi, Klingons, and Romulans.
In the episode, Spock gets a moment to pay tribute to Picard. In his memoir, "Making It So," Stewart reminisced about the episode and revealed how much the moment meant to him.
Spock shares his thoughts with Data in the episode: "He intrigues me, this Picard [...] Remarkably analytical and dispassionate. There's an almost Vulcan quality to the man."
Stewart writes, "I am honored that the writers gave him a speech in which Spock pays my character tribute."
