9-1-1: Peter Krause's Bobby Nash Exit Explained
By JEREMY SMITH
When Peter Krause's Captain Bobby Nash on "9-1-1" died of a virus, fans were inconsolable. However, per Showrunner Tim Minear, the death was necessary to shake things up.
Stressing that the death wasn't the network's business decision, Minear told Variety that it "made the whole world feel more alive" and "more real because this thing had happened."
Meanwhile, Krause stated that Nash's death shows that real heroes are out there risking their lives. He said, "Bobby Nash was written in sacrifice and [...] built for this."
The actor added, "First responders risk their lives on the job so that others can see another day. His story arc honors them." He then went on to salute the 9-1-1 responders.
