Nothing about "Jurassic Park" makes it a Christmas movie; yet, for many, Christmas Day wouldn't be complete without a big family viewing of Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic. It could be down to a mixture of nostalgia and the pure dependability of both its storytelling and execution that the film consistently features in the TV listings at least once during the Christmas season.

If there's an overriding message underpinning the Christmas season, it's the importance of helping those in need — even if they aren't from Earth. Perhaps this is why "E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial" makes occasional appearances throughout the Christmas season, pulls on viewers' heartstrings, and renews their faith in friendship and humanity.
Back to the Future
"Back to the Future" combines a compelling story with some techy special effects, making it a film both young and old family members can enjoy. Speaking to CBS Mornings, the film's star Michael J. Fox has admitted to revisiting it over the festive period, confirming that viewers aren't alone in their attempts to brand the film as an unlikely Christmas classic.

"Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" is a Spielberg classic that makes for perfect family viewing and often airs around Christmas. However, according to a report by the UK outlet JOE Media, a few years ago, BBC had aired it before its pre-expected Christmas period slot, and angry viewers took to social media to vent their outrage.
Paddington
"Paddington" and "Paddington 2" have quickly established themselves as the cream of the crop for family viewing. There are enough to entice and captivate younger and older audiences, so it's no wonder that these very British films have found themselves in regular rotation in the UK throughout the festive period.
