I had a blast at Star Wars Celebration 2015, but as of right now it doesn't look like I'll be able to travel to London for this year's event. But we'll try to cover the festivities from afar.

The Star Wars Show

Also Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media have announced a new weekly web series called The Star Wars Show. The new show will be a "weekly variety series celebrates the franchise, fans, and fun of the world of Star Wars."

Starting this week, the seven minute show recaps the latest happenings in the Star Wars galaxy directly from the source, showcasing the energy, excitement, and passion of the fan community, as well as sitting down with prominent superfans. Hosts Andi Gutierrez and Peter Townley unveil the latest headlines from a galaxy far, far away as well as chat with special guest stars to explore all things Star Wars. Episodes of The Star Wars Show will be available every Wednesday at 12:00 pm PT on the Star Wars YouTube channelStarWars.com, the official Star Wars app (available on iOS and Android), and Star Wars social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. The Star Wars Show recaps the latest happenings in the Star Wars galaxy directly from the source, showcasing the energy, excitement, and passion of the fan community, as well as sitting down with prominent superfans. It's a show for fans, by fans, made in the same building as Star Wars; covering the films, characters, news, interviews and more. It's all Star Wars, all the time...seven minutes at a time...once a week.

The first episode is very enjoyable. I love the segment on Kitster. The Topps Choice cards are my favorite set on the Star Wars Card Trader app because they focus on the little known background characters in the films, and this seems to do that in video form. I'm not sure how much I care about the variety show concept or celebrity guests talking about their Star Wars fandom, but the idea that there will be a weekly Star Wars show that could round up the news of the week while providing some new access to all the things going on (movies, tv, comics, books and games) is exciting. We'll probably be including the Star Wars Show in our Star Wars Bits roundups, unless of course there is some big breaking news that comes from them.
