R.L. Stine's 'It's The First Day Of School...Forever' Getting Feature Treatment

Briefly: There is a generation or two for whom R.L. Stine is just as big a name as Stephen King. It's not my generation — Goosebumps was after my time, and Stine's influence on me was limited to his late-'70s, early '80s kids' magazine Bananas — but to those who've got fond or frightened memories of the author's books, this one is for you. His upcoming book, the very Groundhog Day-sounding It's the First Day of School...Forever!, has been optioned so that it may be adapted as a 'family adventure' movie.THR lists a number of participating producers and explains that the book " tells the story of 12-year-old Artie, whose second day at his new school is exactly like his first, which just happened to be the worst day of his life. The boy finds himself reliving the same horrible day and must find a way to change his nightmare." There is no script yet, nor even a writer attached, so it's also too early to think about casting, but we'll follow up if things move forward.
