Mjolnir Looks Un-Smashed In An 'Avengers: Infinity War' Set Photo

Things looked pretty dire for Thor and his hammer Mjolnir during the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. While I have no doubt that Thor will pull through since actor Chris Hemsworth appears in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, it didn't seem that way for Mjolnir, which found itself smashed to pieces by Cate Blanchett's evil Hela.

But with a new set photo of Infinity War courtesy of directors Anthony and Joe Russo showing an alright-looking and fairly un-smashed Mjolnir prop, it looks like that dire fate may not be permanent for Thor's hammer.

The Russo brothers' Instagram posted a photo from the set of Avengers: Infinity War, with the two of them standing in an unknown cathedral, holding Mjolnir. The photo was simply captioned "Worthy."

Worthy.

What does it all mean?!

It's clear that the Russos are referring to Mjolnir with the caption "worthy" since only those who are worthy can hold Thor's hammer. Does this mean that Mjolnir is repaired at the end or after Thor: Ragnarok? Will Doctor Strange — who met with Thor in a mid-credits scene for Doctor Strange — help reforge the hammer in a post-credits scene? Or is it just the two brothers messing around with a prop and trolling us all (something James Gunn is famous for)?

If it's the first, then the Russo brothers just revealed a massive spoiler for Thor: Ragnarok. If the second, well, consider us all fooled.

However, it would make sense to try to bring back Mjolnir since it is a huge part of Thor's power, even though the majority of 2011's Thor consisted of him learning to live without it. But in the huge battle against Thanos for control of the Infinity Stones — which supposedly will be the broad strokes of the plot for Infinity War — it would be unfortunate for Thor to only be fighting at half power.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4, 2018.
