Marvel Comics Finally Added To Comixology's Comic Book Subscription Service

It's been almost a year since Comixology announced they would be offering an all-you-can-eat Netflix-style option for their comic books subscription service. We wrote about it last May, and I have been a paying member of the service since then. The biggest notable exclusion from the service was Marvel comics, who offer their own subscription service, Marvel Unlimited.

But today, it was announced that Marvel Comics is finally joining the Comixology Unlimited fold.

No, not all of Marvel's extensive comic library will be available on Comixology Unlimited – only a mere 52 collections, which seem to be offer entry points into many of the more popular series. Marvel will continue to offer the vast majority of their back comic catalog on their own subscription service. Here is a list of the Marvel titles that will be available today on the service, although Comixology promises that more titles will be added over time.

All-New Wolverine (2015-) #1-#10

Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1.1: Learning To Crawl

Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3: Spider-Verse

America (2017-) #1

Black Panther: Who Is The Black Panther?

Black Widow (2014-2015) #1-#12

Cable & Deadpool Vol. 1: If Looks Could Kill

Civil War

Elektra (2017-) #1

Fantastic Four Special 2005 #1

Gamora (2016-) #1-#3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1: Cosmic Avengers

Guardians of the Galaxy: New Guard Vol. 1: Emperor Quill

Invincible Iron Man (2008-2012) #1-#12

Iron Fist (2017-) #1

Ms. Marvel Vol. 1: No Normal

Rocket Raccoon (2016-) #1-#2

Runaways Vol. 1: Pride and Joy

She-Hulk Vol. 3: Time Trials

Spider-Gwen Vol. 1: Greater Power

Star Wars Vol. 1: Skywalker Strikes

Star Wars: Darth Maul (2017-) #1

Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 1: Vader

X-23 (2010-2012) #1-#16

X-Men Prime (2017) #1

I prefer the Comixology subscription offering over the Marvel Unlimited service because the software is better, offering higher resolution versions of the comic pages with an ability to explore the story through a cinematic style zoom from panel to panel. Also, it offers a better opportunity to sample new comics and characters, especially for someone who loves exploring graphic stories outside of the men-in-tights superhero genre.

In addition to the Comixology Unlimited offerings, select Marvel collections will also be available through Kindle Unlimited and Amazon's Prime Reading services. Here is a list of which collections are coming to Kindle Unlimited's $10-a-month subscription starting today, with 20 more titles yet to be revealed:

Astonishing X-Men Vol. 1: Gifted

Spider-Man Vol. 1: Brand New Day

New Avengers Vol. 1: Breakout

Deadpool Vol. 1: Secret Invasion

Star Wars Vol. 1: Skywalker Strikes

Thor by J. Michael Straczynski Vol. 1
