Popstar Never Stop Never Stopping green-band trailer

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

Release Date: June 3

Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Shaffer, also known as the trio The Lonely Island, are best known for their digital short music videos from Saturday Night Live. The guys previously brought Hot Rod to the big screen, while Taccone and Shaffer were also behind films such as MacGruber and The Watch. None of those films hit strong at the box office, but they all have their own merits when it comes to bringing the laughs, and at least two of them can be considered cult comedy favorites. Their latest effort is a laugh riot that is most simply described as The Lonely Island’s version of This Is Spinal Tap with a little bit of Rock Star thrown in for good measure. It delivers huge laughs and never runs out of steam. Plus, the original songs are just plain ridiculous.

The Conjuring 2 Trailer

The Conjuring 2

Release Date: June 10

It’s hard not to get excited for a new horror film from James Wan, and since this one is a sequel to The Conjuring, that only makes this one even more enticing. The sequel appears to amp things up from the original as Ed & Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) head across the pond to check out England’s own Amityville, a house that is full of a demonic force that is terrorizing a woman and her children. The trailers make it look like The Exorcist, but where the spirits are even more powerful and not shy about making themselves known.

Now You See Me 3

Now You See Me 2

Release Date: June 10

Even though the ending of Now You See Me felt a little ridiculous, there’s something undeniably fun and stylish about the magician heist. The sequel looks to amp things up by bringing Daniel Radcliffe, who is pretty well versed in magic thanks to the Harry Potter franchise, into the mix this time. It’s not exactly clear what the Four Horsemen are up against, this time, but I’m certainly interested to see what kind of tricks they have up their sleeve for the sequel.

Warcraft Trailer

Warcraft

Release Date: June 10

Bringing the massive multiplayer online role playing game to the big screen will be no easy feat for director Duncan Jones. But Warcraft appears to bring fantasy to the big screen with as rich of a world as Lord of the Rings. However, there’s something that doesn’t quite feel as easily accessible in this story of orcs, wizards and humans at odds. Having said that, there’s also something bold in how deep this movie is digging into the fantasy genre.

Finding Dory

Release Date: June 17

When you think of a Pixar movie that needed a sequel but hadn’t yet received one, Finding Nemo was not at the top of the list. But knowing that the sequel is about the forgetful fish Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) learning about her past, and not tracking down the young clownfish Nemo again, this actually sounds like a worthy successor to Pixar’s undersea adventure. There’s a whole new cast of characters voiced by the likes of Eugene Levy, Dian Keaton, Ty Burrell, Kaitlin Olsen and more, and we’re bound to have our heartstrings pulled by Pixar yet again.
