The X-Files Teaser Trailer
Russ Fischer’s original post from July 17th 2015 follows, along with the first teaser trailer for the new edition of The X-Files:
This new X-Files teaser footage is brief, but packed with some signature elements that make it feel like a longer clip than it really is. In a 15-second blast, you’ll see Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) as well as a couple bodies being dragged in a bloody trail, some evidence of a weird medical procedure or experiment, and even a desecration of Mulder’s familiar “I Want to Believe” poster. Check out the footage after the break.
Fox tweeted the footage. The X-Files returns to TV on January 24 2016 as the first episode of a six-part limited series, airing right after the National Football Conference Championship Game. The second episode will air the next night, January 25, in its regular 8PM-9PM ET/PT timeslot .

We know that, in addition to Anderson and Duchovny, the revived series will feature Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and Joel McHale as a conservative internet news anchor in the new episodes. Reportedly, William B. Davis will return as the Cigarette-Smoking Man, and Annabeth Gish and Robert Patrick may cameo as special agents Monica Reyes and John Doggett.
If you missed the trailer for the full series marathon, which has been running for the past ten days and will continue into early 2016, you can check it out here. The last few seconds are new footage.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.
