Watch A Clip From The 'Fright Night' Remake

It's bound to be a slow week as everyone gets back to work from the Memorial Day weekend, so lets start things off with a clip. This is the first semi-extended look at Colin Farrell playing the vampire in Craig Gillespie's remake of Fright Night. The character was played in the original by Chris Sarandon — played to great effect, too — and so Colin Farrell has big shoes to fill as far as fans are concerned. This clip will show some of the ways that he and Gillespie have made the vampire a bit different in this version of the film. Check it out after the break, along with the film's MPAA R rating bulletin. No PG-13 for this one!

Here's the clip; revisit the trailer if you want a refresher on the overall feel of the film. And while we're on the subject, Fright Night was recently given an R for "bloody horror violence and language including some sexual references." So that might be taken as good news. This will be a far cry from Twilight, at the very least, and the descriptions we've heard comparing the vampire's purer form to the shark in Jaws might actually have had some impact on the film.

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he's running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), doesn't notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
