Tonight, it looks like the Tron Legacy viral is going to take things to the next level.

The Flynn Lives website has announced that they are going to try to disrupt a special “Encom Press Conference” where “Alan Bradley” making an appearance. Fans of the original Tron will recognize that Encom is the fictional company behind Tron while Alan Bradley is Tron’s fictional programmer. Actor Bruce Boxleitner plays Bradley in the upcoming film. Hit the jump for more details about the event.

The site is instructing people to meet at 6:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency in the Grand Ballroom at 5 Embarcadero Center. They will be distributing “Flynn Lives” T-shirts and going over their plans for the event. The press conference will take place tonight, April 2, at 8 PM PST at the Justin Herman Plaza on the San Francisco Embarcadero. According to the site,

After we lay out our strategies in the pre-meeting, we will all head over to the press conference in stealth mode (jackets covering our t-shirts, badges displayed – we’ll look like every other Encom drone). Then, we’ll listen to what Alan Bradley has to say about Encom’s latest product (could be cool – let’s cut him some slack). When the moment is right, we’ll all remove our jackets to reveal that our allegiance lies with Kevin Flynn. That’s when one of our members will take the stage as we chant our mantra in unison: FLYNN LIVES! FLYNN LIVES! FLYNN LIVES!!!

Hopefully lots of people will join them. Otherwise, things could get awkward quickly.

Our intrepid editor-in-chief, Peter Sciretta, will be attending the event as part of his Wonder Con coverage. If you’re in the area, you should probably come and check this out. I’ve participated in parts of the Tron Legacy viral campaign before, and they do good work.

The Flynn Lives website launched last summer, dedicated to the idea that the character Kevin Flynn is still alive and must be found. It is the most professional-looking “missing person” website I’ve ever seen, let alone one dedicated to a fictional person.
