Time Magazine Names /Film One Of The 25 Best Blogs Of 2009

Time Magazine has published The Top 25 Blogs of 2009, and the editors decided to include /Film! We're actual the only movie blog that has ever been included on their yearly list, and it is a great honor. Other blogs included on this year's list, many of which we read on a daily basis: Talking Points Memo, The Huffington Post, Lifehacker, Metafilter, Freakonomics, BoingBoing, Crooks and Liars, Mashable, The Official Google Blog, and Seth Godin's Blog. You can read their full listing, presented in slide-show, on Time.com.

Over the last year we've been nominated by various organizations for Best Entertainment Blog, named One of the Best Websites for Movie Fans by PC Magazine, even named Best Movie Blog by Total Film Magazine and one of the Best Movie Blogs by G4TV's Attack of the Show. But Time's list is the first time we've ever been included in the Best of everything, and not just the best of a smaller subgroup. It's difficult because the best of the best is usually dominated by mostly political and tech sites, and movie blogs are usually lumped in with the gossip blogs (and lets be real, we're not going to beat Perez...). But somehow we made it on Time's list!

I want to again, thank all of YOU out there who read this blog, and especially anyone who has somehow interacted back with us: Maybe you commented, joined us for a live /FilmCast, submitted a news scoop or an email comment. It's because of you guys that we got here, and I promise you guys, I'll never forget that. And this goes without saying, but this could never be possible without the help of the entire /Film staff (Adam Quigley, Brendon Connelly, David Chen, Devindra Hardawar, Hunter Stephenson, Kevin Kelly, Steve Mason) who works week after week to create content that is worthy of being called the best of the web.
