Aardman Animation - Morning Watch

The Morning Watch is a recurring feature that highlights a handful of noteworthy videos from around the web. They could be video essays, fanmade productions, featurettes, short films, hilarious sketches, or just anything that has to do with our favorite movies and TV shows.

In this edition, learn about the specific clay that’s used in the stop-motion animation from Aardman Animation. Plus, watch the Friends movie trailer that had the internet freaking out recently, and see the theatrical trailer for Maze Runner: The Death Cure recreated in LEGO form.

Adam Savage and the Tested crew go behind the scenes of Aardman Animation to learn how they studio produces hundreds of pounds of clay in various colors to create all the different versions of the various characters appearing in movies like The Early Man and Wallace and Gromit.

Some Friends fans have been freaking out about this fanmade trailer for a hypothetical Friends reunion movie. What makes it so convincing is the perfect use of clips from shows like Cougar Town and Episodes where a couple Friends stars appeared in scenes together. It’s actually pretty well done, and appropriately captures the spirit of the original show.

Finally, with Maze Runner: The Death Cure hitting theaters this weekend, 20th Century Fox decided to put together a LEGO recreation of the film’s theatrical trailer with the assistance of LEGO short film creators Huxley Berg Studios. This is about as good as an official LEGO trailer can get without being a full blown LEGO movie.
