Another 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Character Revealed: What Is A Guavian Enforcer?

With Force Friday in the United States just hours away, Star Wars fans will soon be getting their hands on a slew of new Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys. And while there's a currently airing unboxing live stream of all the new Star Wars merchandise hitting shelves tonight, we're still learning of new characters that have gone under the radar so far.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys are already being sold in the Philippines, and a photo of a previously unseen action figure has revealed a new character known as a Guavian Enforcer. Check out a photo of the action figure, and learn a little bit about this The Force Awakens Guavian Enforcer after the jump!

First of all, here's the images from the Instagram of Star Wars fan Chris Cantada:

My first impression of this figure is that this is the Star Wars version of Deadpool. Honestly, if it wasn't so close to Force Friday and the box wasn't so official, I would have thought this was some kind of fake custom figure. But unless it's a very well-done, elaborate hoax, it appears to be the real thing.

If you're having trouble reading the back of the box, here's how the Guavian Enforcer is described:

The security soldiers of the Guavian Gang wear high impact armor that makes them stand out from other deadly criminals.

That's not much to go on with regards to their involvement in the story of The Force Awakens, but this is now the second gang we've heard about by way of Star Wars toys. The first was the Kanjiklub gang, and we learned about that because a member of the gang comes as a LEGO minifigure in the new Millennium Falcon LEGO set.

How do these gangs come into play? It's hard to tell, but I'm pretty sure that we have already seen the Guavian gang in action thanks to a quick bit of footage being shot in the behind the scenes sizzle reel that debuted at Comic-Con earlier this summer. Here's a few snapshots of a monitor showing them running down a hallway (they come in around the 2:20 mark if you want to see them yourself):

What are they doing in that scene? Are they chasing somebody? Where are they? Do they like tacos? We'll see.
