Power Rangers short film

One of the biggest movie stories this week was the release of Power/Rangers, a professionally made, R-rated fan film based on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque) and produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd), the Power Rangers short film put a dark, kinetic spin on the ’90s cartoon. Fans seemed to enjoy it but two groups who didn’t like the short were Saban Brands, the company who owns the Rangers, and members of the original cast.

Below, read about the copyright claim, the reactions of the original Rangers and find out how you can watch the Power Rangers short film now. Read More »

Black Widow Age of Ultron header

The first official Avengers: Age of Ultron poster was a big mess of characters and details, but the character posters are a lot more clean. It helps that the posters only have to focus on one character each — in this latest case, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow.

(These originally looked like they could be something along the lines of the concept art drop from Comic Con last summer, which assembled into one large image. But they clearly don’t fit together as currently released, despite having a common background theme.)

We’ll continue to post the Age of Ultron character posters as they arrive. For now, see all of the released Avengers: Age of Ultron character posters below.

Jack Huston Now in Talks to Lead ‘The Crow’

Jack Huston the Crow

The remake of The Crow has turned into a revolving door for talent, with a parade of writers, directors, and actors being attached to the film in various capacities before falling off again. Most recently, F. Javier Gutiérrez was going to direct, with Luke Evans starring. But Gutiérrez fell away, and Corin Hardy signed on to direct. Not long afterwards Luke Evans also moved on, due in part to the change in scheduling and story approach that came with the director change.

Now Jack Huston, perhaps best known for his role as a scarred assassin on Boardwalk Empire, is in early talks to star. Read More »
