I type this from the tables right outside the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin Texas as Fantastic Fest 2011 is getting ready to kick off. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true to form Alamo event if Mondo didn’t get involved and in addition to an Olly Moss American Werewolf in London poster that will be revealed on Saturday, Mondo has a bunch of limited edition posters that will be available for the first time at the fest. They’re for Zombie, The Innkeepers and The House by the Cemetery. Plus Mondo is releasing their first record, the score to Maniac by Jay Chattaway. Check out all the images after the jump. Fantastic Fest is one of the most chaotic, disturbing, entertaining and best film festivals in the United States. For one week straight, the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, Texas plays nothing but the most promising, controversial and exciting genre films the world has to offer with many of them not seeing wide release until several months later. /Film will once again be on the ground in Austin from September 22-29 and we just got the announcement of the first wave of films playing at the festival. Chances are that, with the exception of two restored Fulci films (Zombi and House by the Cemetery) and the 10th Anniversary release of Versus, you haven’t heard of these movies yet. But, come September, you most certainly will start hearing a lot more.

Threadless has done it again, this time with a zombie themed t-shirt by Aled Lewis. Titled “The Horde”, the t-shirt shows the last stand of one living human surrounded by an epic giant horde of zombies. The artist explains his inspirations for the design:
“This design is an homage to a bunch of different zombie related influences: Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of The Dead, The Evil Dead, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil and MJ’s Thriller to name a few. I imagine this guy is probably making a last stand as a distraction whilst his friends get to the chopper.”
The tshirt even features a cool little easter egg: a zombie Michael Jackson (as seen in the music video “Thriller”) hidden in the undead horde. Photo after the jump.
