‘Shark Night 3D’ Trailer

David R. Ellis, who directed the second and fourth Final Destination films and Snakes on a Plane, at one point was campaigning to have his new film released with the working title intact: Untitled 3D Shark Thriller. That was, he said, because “The title says everything you need to know: ‘We’ve got sharks.’ ‘It’s in 3D.’ and, ‘It’s a thriller.‘”

But Shark Night 3D works pretty well, too. Defiantly horning in on the Jaws + boobs + 3D gore territory of last year’s Piranha (that being super-sacred territory) this one puts a bunch of homogeneously attractive kids on an island, then lets you watch them be torn to bits by sharks. The film once called Shark Night 3D is now called The Untitled David R. Ellis 3D Shark Thriller, but at least it has a distributor. Relativity Media has picked up domestic rights to the film, which is in post-production right now, and will release it wide on a TDB date in 2011. Read More »
