A new movie called Unforgettable hits theaters this weekend starring Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl, and while it doesn’t appear to have anything to do with amnesia, audiences will probably be forgetting it as soon as they exit the theater. I kid. We love Rosario Dawson. 1996’s Unforgettable however, does involve ideas of memory. Denise Di Novi produced Crazy Stupid Love back in 2011, but that title could also work for her upcoming directorial debut, a psychological thriller called Unforgettable. Former rom-com queen Katherine Heigl plays a deranged woman who’s jealous of her ex-husband’s new fiancee Rosario Dawson, and she sets out to psychologically abuse his new lady in the hopes of getting her man back. Unforgettable belongs to a surprisingly large subgenre: the “Jealous Woman Stalks The Woman Who Stole Her Man” thriller. If you aren’t familiar with this very specific kind of tale, you probably don’t go to movie theaters from January through April or have access to the Lifetime network. Anyway, the first trailer for this movie has arrived and at first glance, it certainly seems like Unforgettable isn’t going to surprise anyone familiar with this particular template. It just depends on how much audiences want to watch Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson engage in a battle of quickly escalating wills.
