Previous live-action film incarnations of Optimus Prime have had a specific look, but for the fourth film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, things have been changed. The first official image of the character isn’t the best for picking out fine detail, but it looks like many vestiges of the leader’s truck disguise have been stripped away, leaving just one pissed-off robot. See the image below. Read More »
Entertainment Tonight has released a video from the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction and while there’s no new information on the plot, it’s still packed with material. The video is filled with flipping cars, shooting debris, stampeding crowds, huge explosions, a screaming Michael Bay and three actors (Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz) who almost seem out of breath they’re working so hard. Of course, there are also some slick cars that, with the magic of special effects, will transform into huge robots when the film hits theaters come June 27. Check out the video from the Detroit set below. Read More »

The best story of the day isn’t the new Wes Anderson trailer; it’s that the mean streets of Hong Kong turned into an actual battleground for a few minutes as Michael Bay and the Transformers: Age of Extinction crew tried to shoot scenes for the film. Stories were originally sketchy, but at least one man, perhaps angered at the production’s impact on his business, went at a couple of crew members, and eventually attacked Michael Bay. With an air conditioner as a weapon.
Now Paramount has clarified the story, and the truth is even weirder and better than the original story, which involved extortion and simple intimidation, but not an air conditioner used as a weapon as in an arcade beat-em-up game from 1989. Read the statement below. Read More »

It always happens this way. Productions can work as hard as they like to protect character designs, but when those characters are going to be licensed out to toy makers and the like, the designs always get out to the public via toy fairs and conventions.
So now we’ve got shots of Hasbro toys that tie in to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Transformers: Age of Extinction. They show characters we knew would be in those films (such as Optimus Prime) and a couple we weren’t sure about — we’ll keep those names hidden after the break for those who’d rather not know just yet. Those characters, which relate to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, may not actually appear in the film, but their inclusion here points to the direction that the filmmakers are going overall. Read More »

Director Michael Bay has posted the first official cast photo from Transformers 4: The Age Of Extinction featuring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor. Wahlberg stars in the film as a mechanic named Cade who makes a discovery that attracts the attention of Autobots, Decepticons and a paranoid government official.
