It was never seen in the film, but it was used in one shot. Now you can see how, thanks to a multi-touch eBook promo for the upcoming Blu-ray release of the film, which has an extended version of the film’s final scene.

The set is packaged in exclusive Wolverine claw packaging. And don’t worry, they also left an open slot for X-Men: Days of Future Past to complete your X-Men collection.

The set also comes with a Legacy X: Wolverine and the X-Men Bonus Disc exclusive to the set, which features a one-hour documentary on the making of the X-men and Wolverine movie universe thus far. The set has a list price of $199.99, but Amazon is doing pre-orders at a 35% discount, only $129.99!

The practice of releasing unrated extended versions of comedies and action film goes back years. But Fox has never taken that step with an X-Men film, until now.

The Wolverine, from director James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, hits disc formats on December 3, and Fox is giving fans an incentive to buy the tricked-out 4-disc blu-ray by featuring an extended, unrated cut of the film, only on that release. The Wolverine

Over the past six X-Men movies — seven if you count the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past — Hugh Jackman has proved invaluable to the Fox franchise. Indeed, he’s so important to the series that this week’s rumor that he’d been offered $100 million to stick around for four more installments sounded entirely plausible. That’s not something you’d be able to say about most movie stars, no matter how lucrative their franchises.
