Is There Another Villain in ‘Wolverine 3: Logan’?

Wolverine 3 title Logan poster

We’ve read a decent amount of information this week about Logan, Hugh Jackman‘s eighth and final outing as the Wolverine. The film comes out in less than five months, but because 20th Century Fox and all involved have done a fine job keeping details about James Mangold‘s sequel under wraps, we don’t know a whole lot about the movie. Not until this week did we even know who Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) was playing in the film. Holbrook was confirmed as one the film’s villains, but a new look at Logan shows Donald Pierce (Holbrook) maybe isn’t alone in his fight against the Wolverine.

Below, see the villain a new Logan photo calls to mind.

wolverine 3 villains

It’s starting to look like the goal of the currently filming Wolverine 3 is to send Hugh Jackman‘s adamantium-clawed superhero out with a bloody bang by throwing as many villains at him as possible. We already know that Narcos star Boyd Holbrook will play the lead villain, an original character reportedly created specifically for this film and that Richard E. Grant will play a “mad scientist” of some kind. Even the post-credits scene in X-Men: Apocalypse appears to be setting up a future villain whose identity will lurk behind this link for those who wish to know.

Now, a new report claims to know about another group of villains that will menace Wolverine in his cinematic swan song and fans will be pleased to note that they have been ripped straight from the comics. Some of you may find this to be a minor spoiler, so feel free to stop reading now if you don’t want to know about the Wolverine 3 villains.

Old Man Logan

It seems appropriate that the practically ageless Wolverine would be the one constant in Fox’s X-Men franchise. But after over a decade and more than half a dozen films, Hugh Jackman will be saying goodbye to the character in 2017 with the untitled Wolverine spinoff.

Details on the film have been kept under very tight wraps. But now a new rumor suggests Jackman will be able to give the character a nice sendoff by bringing him into the twilight of his life via the Old Man Logan storyline from the comics. Hit the jump to read all about the Wolverine 3 Old Man Logan rumor.

Bryan Singer

X-Men Days of Future Past wiped most of Bryan Singer‘s X-Men universe slate clean. He’s now filming X-Men: Apocalypse, which has recast younger versions of many of the mutants who feature in his early movies. After that, the next Wolverine film will likely be the last time Hugh Jackman puts on the adamantium claws. Do you see a pattern here?

A new rumor has surfaced that X-Men Apocalypse and Wolverine 3 will shut the book on the world Singer created back in 2000. Then, everything moving forward will be tied to the X-Men First Class world, which would likely include Gambit, Deadpool and maybe even Fantastic Four. Read more about the X-Men movies rumor below.
