Some of the cast of the Harry Potter films (Robbie Coltrane, Emma Watson, Matthew Lewis, and James and Oliver Phelps) were given the opportunity to visit the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal’s Orlando Resort a few weeks before the officially grand opening. Last month, Universal Studios finally announced details of the centerpiece attraction of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, “a revolutionary, 360-degree theme park experience and first-ever combination of live-action, advanced robotic technology and innovative filmmaking.” We’ve been interested since that announcement to finally see what this attraction might look like. The answer – it looks almost exactly like the film.
Mark Woodbury, the president of Universal creative has recorded a two minute video tour of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure on June 18th 2010. The video includes a walk-through of the Portrait Gallery, with the first ever look at Hogwart’s four founders – Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw. And we also get to see the very detailed Dumbledore’s office, before heading into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Watch the video embedded after the jump.

With the official grand opening date finally announced (June 18th 2010), Universal Studios Orlando is continuing to tease the upcoming The Wizarding World of Harry Potter extension of the Islands of Adventure theme park. Today they released a photo of Hagrid’s Hut, which looks to be very accurately recreated from the films.
HAGRID’S HUT – An authentic replica from the Harry Potter films, guests will pass by Hagrid’s hut on their way to the Flight of the Hippogriff family-friendly roller coaster. Just before they board, Hagrid instructs guests on how to properly approach and fly on a Hippogriff. Hagrid’s hut will be seen as part of a feature about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice this Sunday, April 4. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter grand opens on June 18.

Universal Studios Orlando will make two major announcements next week regarding The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: They will reveal the key details of the theme park’s main attraction “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and announce the exact date of the park’s grand opening. They have also provided us with a sneak peek video showing some of the behind the scenes filming with the stars of the films for “Forbidden Journey.” Watch the video now, embedded after the jump.

Universal Studios will air the first television commercial for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the new theme park section of Universal’s Islands of Adventure which will launch in Spring 2010. The 30 second television spot is now available online, and is embedded below. But you didn’t expect it to feature any real footage of the still-in-construction park, did you?
