The studio has just pushed the Friday the 13th reboot yet again, this time from 2016 to 2017, while Rings settles into a spring 2016 slot. Pumped for The Ring 3? Sorry to break the news, but the sequel/reboot/prequel has been pushed to 2016. The film, titled Rings, is currently without a release date. F. Javier Gutiérrez‘s film has been flying far under the radar for a while now, so nobody should be shocked by this news. Learn why the film was removed from Paramount’s fall schedule after the jump.

The second Ring film, a sequel to the remake of the Japanese movie Ringu, opened in 2005. That’s nearly a decade ago, which in Hollywood terms means we’re long overdue for another sequel. Now a third Ring film, which we’ll unofficially call The Ring 3, has been announced. It’ll be directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez, a Spanish filmmaker who has long been attached to direct The Crow remake. His only previous film, Before The Fall, opened in 2008 to some critical acclaim. Read More »
