Pictures hopes will be an expansive DC Comics cinematic universe to rival Marvel Studios. It sounds like the internet must have some kind of obsession with turning heroes to villains and vice versa. Hot on the heels of a video essay saying that Daniel LaRusso was actually the villain in The Karate Kid, and a fanmade trailer that turns Harry Potter into the villain of the fantasy franchise, a new fan theory for The Dark Knight has proposed that The Joker could be considered the hero truly responsible for saving Gotham City instead of Batman.
The new theory lays out some pretty compelling evidence for how the seemingly anarchistic plans of The Joker are actually all part of a plan to clean up the corruption of Gotham City, from the police department to its latest vigilante. Learn more about The Dark Knight Joker theory below! Read More »
The upcoming Fox prequel series Gotham is packed full of iconic Batman characters. One, however, is conspicuously absent: The Joker. A few months back, showrunner Bruno Heller said the following. “The Joker is the crown jewel of the Batman villains. He will be brought in with great care and a lot of thought.” We now have an idea of what that process might entail.
According to reports, every episode of the first season of Gotham will have a character in it who may, or may not, become the Joker. The first of these is in the pilot, which features a stand up comedian who witnesses a horrific event. Check him out and read more below. Read More »
Over at SHH, a tipster sent in pics of Halloween costumes and masks from a Las Vegas showcase for The Dark Knight, including those pretty friggin’ eerie Heath Ledger/Joker masks above. Halloween 2008 just got a helluva lot scarier imagining six year old hooligans giggling down darkly lit streets in those things. Also, the tipster supposedly received a spoilerish reason for the lack of Two Face costumes. After the hop, we have the spoiler (I’d rank it a 6 out of 10) and two big photos of the get-ups…
Discuss: Did the spoiler bum you out a little? Would you go as The Joker for Halloween?
