Hunger Games Catching Fire Header

Lionsgate has been very careful in marketing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Seemingly every piece of video or image that’s been released has hid a simple fact. A simple fact a new banner finally confirms without a shadow of a doubt.

You see (spoiler for the first film), Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) won the 74th annual Hunger Games at the end of the last movie. And it’s established in that film that winners are free to enjoy life’s wonderful spoils for the rest of their days, right? But in this new banner, as well as several posters that have been released, you see a lot of older characters referred to as “Victors.” And they’re all holding weapons. I won’t come out and say it above the jump but, the second half of Francis Lawrence‘s film should be pretty clear from that info. Check out an epic banner featuring all the victors below. The Hunger Games Catching Fire - Katniss and Peeta header

The summer movie season’s winding down, but there should be plenty of big, exciting action this fall as well. Among the upcoming offerings are The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which picks up with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) on their victory tour around Panem following the events of the first film. Francis Lawrence directs this time around.

Earlier this week, The Hunger Games franchise joined the photo based social network Instagram and following the account is already paying dividends. The account revealed the next poster for the highly anticipated sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. On the poster Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), the newly crowned co-victor of the Hunger Games, is standing on a bluff looking down on the world. One year after Katniss and Peeta won the Hunger Games, the evil President Snow is not amused. He’s got something very special planned for the Victors, something that will shake Panem to its core.

Similarly, one year ago The Hunger Games was a surprise box office champion and November 22, Francis Lawrence‘s sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, hits the big screen.

The first trailer for the film is now online. The movie brings Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Willow Shields back to roles they played in the first film, and adds Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Lynn Cohen, Meta Golding, Amanda Plummer and Jeffrey Wright. We’ve seen a few photos from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as we slowly approach the film’s November release, and we’ll soon get a look at new footage when a trailer premieres on April 14. But in the meantime here are a couple extra shots that depict Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and a tender moment between the heroine and her younger sister Primrose (Willow Shields).
