Summer only officially started a few days ago, but for those who don’t want a long procession of super-powered tentpoles, summer movie fatigue is here in full force. If you’re in that crowd the fall festival season may seem like a great promise on the horizon, and one of the first films in that season is Denis Villeneuve‘s Prisoners. The story follows a family (Hugh Jackman and Maria Bello) whose daughter is kidnapped; Terrance Howard and Viola Davis play another couple whose child is also missing. Melissa Leo, Paul Dano, and Jake Gyllenhaal factor in to the plot, too.
We just saw one fairly heavy trailer for the film a few weeks ago, but now there is already a second. Like the first look at the movie, this positions Prisoners as a tense and very promising fall entry. Read More »

Nickelodeon has aired a new two minute clip from Iron Man. This is one of the clips shown at WonderCon, with Tony Stark testing out the thrusters for the first time. Watch it below and tell me what you think in the comments. We also have 29 new photos from the film after the jump. Most of the photos revolve around Gwyneth Paltrow‘s character Virginia ‘Pepper’ Potts, but there are a few good Iron Man shots also in the mix. Click on the photos to see super high resolution versions.

The final theatrical one-sheet for Jon Favreau’s Iron Man has hit the web. I’m not a big fan of the floating head aesthetic, and this is kind of an off-shoot of that overused marketing style. But at the same time I also understand that you can’t just sell the movie with a bad ass photo of Iron Man. The movie studio is playing it smart and hedging their bets by putting some sparkle out there to attract the non-comicbook geek masses.
Update: The poster is not the final poster after all. Cinematical just posted a second new poster, which can be seen below. I prefer thedark Star Wars type set-up of the one above.
Discuss: What do you think of the new Iron Man poster?

The first three minutes of The Hunting Party are now online for your viewing pleasure. I had the chance to see this movie a month ago, and I can highly recommend it. The movie was released a couple weeks back in limited distribution, but has still failed to make over $175k in the United States. I feel that Richard Gere tends to scare people from my generation off, and film has been poorly marketed. So check out the first three minutes after the jump, and if it sucks you in – go buy a ticket!
